Ubuntu 11.04: come spostare le notifiche in un altro angolo dello schermo

In questi giorni un nostro lettore ha avanzato una domanda in merito alla possibilità di cambiare angolo e posizione delle notifiche di Ubuntu 11.04 Natty. Se ben ricordate in passato vi segnalai questo metodo per poter personalizzare la posizione relativa alle notifiche di sistema ma, il metodo citato, è funzionante e completamente supportato solo per versioni precedenti ad Ubuntu 11.04.

La soluzione per poter rendere il tutto compatibile anche con Natty è semplice: basterà affidarsi ad alcuni repository di notifyOSD contenenti la versione compatibile con Ubuntu 11.04. Tutto ciò che dovete fare è semplicemente installare questo tool aprendo il terminale e digitando:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:qwerty12/notifyosd
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install notify-osd

Adesso sempre da terminale dobbiamo killare e riavviare il processo notify-osd:

pkill notify-osd

e cambiamo l’angolo dove verranno mostrate le notifiche con il seguente comando:

gconftool-2 -s /apps/notify-osd/gravity --type=int NUMERO

ed al posto di NUMERO inserite uno dei seguenti codici:

  1. Angolo in alto a destra
  2. Centro destra
  3. Angolo in basso a destra
  4. Angolo in basso a sinistra
  5. Centro sinistra
  6. Angolo in alto a sinistra

Potete ottenere lo stesso risultato anche in una maniera alternativa. Premete ALT + F2 e digitate il comando “gconf-editor” senza apici. Scorrete fino ad apps/notify-osd e alla proprietà “gravity” impostate come valore il numero relativo alla disposizione che preferite per la comparsa delle notifiche.

Tutto fatto! Se volete testare una notifica basterà digitare da terminale:

notify-send chimerarevo.com

semplice vero? Andrew di webupd8 ci ha segnalato che potrebbe essere riscontrato un problema di gap (spazio vuoto) tra i vari angoli delle notifiche. Per risolvere il problema dovete installare NotifyOSD Config digitando:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:nilarimogard/webupd8
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install notifyosdconfig

Ora usate l’opzione “dynamic” per risolvere il problema.

    E’ lo stesso problema che riscontro anche io in macchina virtuale. Prova con notifyosdconfig, Andrew ha detto che configurando tutto con questo tool si risolve il problema anche di un eventuale gap di spazio!

    Both 3 and 4 work for me (you can actually see it in the video on our post about this on WebUpd8). But there’s a gap between the notifications and the bottom of the screen – the same gap is also to the top of the screen. To be able to see it properly (without the gap), use the “dynamic” option in NotifyOSD Config.

    ho provato pirma sulla macchina virtuale e effettivamente non funziona neanche a me poi ho provato sul sistema non virtuale e i numeri 3 e 4 non funzionano lo stesso. Ho provato anche su maverick stesso risultato
