VLC 1.1.10 rilasciato! Installiamolo su Ubuntu 11.04 Natty e Ubuntu 11.10 Oneiric

Vlc è forse il miglior player multimediale per Linux apprezzato da una vasta gamma di utenti. Eccoci giunti alla versione 1.1.10, che rappresenta un aggiornamento minore atto più che altro ai bugfixes: vediamo risolti tanti bugs alle librerie e, soprattutto, il problema del font cache rebuilding su Windows. Potrete trovare in tutti i casi il changelog dalla versione precedente in questa pagina.

La cosa più bella di questo player è che riesce, senza nessun codec aggiuntivo, a riprodurre praticamente di tutto, essendo compatibile con la stragrande maggioranza dei formati audio e video: è leggero e funzionale e supporta skins e plugins!

Installare VLC 1.1.10 su Ubuntu Natty è semplicissimo: ci affideremo ai nostri repository PPA. Apriamo quindi un terminale e digitiamo:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:chimerarevo/vlc
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install vlc mozilla-plugin-vlc

NB: questo procedimento NON funzionerà (fino a nuovo ordine) per le distribuzioni precedenti a Ubuntu 11.10.

      Ma è per Ubuntu 11.10.. a te non serviva per la 10.10? Anche dal nostro PPA puoi scaricare il deb se vuoi ma non credo sarà compatibile.. fammi sapere ^^

          Attualmente no perché, come vedi, ci sono molti problemi di dipendenze e non è semplice creare il PPA funzionante! Noi ci abbiamo provato ma con scarsi risultati..se troveremo qualcosa, naturalmente vi faremo sapere!

        Io ho provato anche a installare le dipendenze per compilare con il comando:

        sudo apt-get build-dep vlc

        ma nulla sempre errore..

        io ci rinuncio :(

        io ho installato mplayer….ma non lo trovo in applicazioni>audio e video…come posso mettere l’icona di mplayer nel desktop?

          mplayer puro è un tool da terminale! Devi installare la gui se vuoi “vederlo” :)

    Hai due scelte. Ignorare lua, e quindi lanciare il comando:

    ./configure -- disable-lua

    oppure installare lua e lanciare normalmente ./configure. Per farlo, apri il terminale e digita:

    sudo apt-get install lua5.1

    Se continui ad avere problemi, credo che siano le tantissime dipendenze che purtroppo ti verranno chieste. Per sicurezza, se ancora non va, installa anche i seguenti pacchetti:

    sudo apt-get install lua5.1 libxcb-shm0-dev libxcb-xv0-de libtool build-essential automake1.11build-dep

    e riprovare a dare il “./configure” ;)

      Se non sbaglio il comando è:

      sudo apt-get install libhal-dev

      e ti installa anche libdbus-dev :) Dopo che lo hai dato, riprova il “./configure”

      Ti serve la versione della libreria “libdbus-dev” maggiore o uguale alla 1.0.0! E’ un problema di dipendenze quindi, dovresti scaricare ed installare prima questa libreria..

    Purtroppo backportare VLC su Maverick, con le mie attuali conoscenze di packaging, comporterebbe più danni che altro! Se vuoi posso sempre insegnarti a farlo da sorgente.. è piuttosto semplice.
