Dopo aver annunciato l’arrivo di Sailfish OS 1.0 e il suo prossimo download per i dispositivi Android, Jolla continua a diramare comunicati stampa per informarci sulle ultime novità e gli ultimi accordi raggiunti. Stando a quanto comunicato, Jolla e F-Secure sono attualmente a lavoro per offrire la migliore soluzione per le esigenze degli utenti Jolla, una soluzione imminente che fornirà a tutti i possessori di smartphone Jolla di avere controllo dei loro beni digitali, usufruendo di gigabyte di cloud storage per il backup facile e veloce, l’archiviazione dei dati e la condivisione immediata.
Gli utenti saranno in grado di accedere ai contenuti salvati anche da altri dispositivi, come tablet, Mac o PC. Jolla ha anche dichiarato di aver raggiunto un accordo con Rovio, celebre produttore del gioco Angry Birds, il quale lavorerà con la società finlandese per rendere The Other Half ancora più personalizzabile.
Per chi non lo sapesse, The Other Half è una tecnologia brevettata da Jolla che permette di personalizzare lo smartphone in modo inedito. Collegando una Smart Cover al telefono è possibile cambiare immediatamente l’aspetto dello smartphone ottenendo un’atmosfera diversa con layout diverso, suoni personalizzati, sfondi, video e molto altro. Insomma si tratta di cover intelligenti che se applicate possono – ad esempio – trasformare il vostro smartphone da un oggetto di svago in uno da lavoro.

Jolla to Partner with Rovio’s Angry Birds and Makia to create exclusive brand experiences with the unique “The Other Half” Smart Covers
HELSINKI, Finland, February 21, 2014 – Jolla, the Finnish smartphone and Sailfish OS developer, today announced the world’s first brand partners for its unique The Other Half concept. Rovio’s Angry Birds and Makia’s clothing can soon be experienced in an unseen way through Jolla smartphones.
The Other Half is an original patented Jolla innovation, which customizes the user’s smartphone in a way previously unseen. Attaching a specifically designed smart cover to a Jolla phone instantly adapts the look and feel of the phone with unique ambience, custom sounds, wallpapers, videos, partner feeds, and much more.

Angry Birds lands on Jolla
Rovio’s globally successful Angry Birds™ characters will be soon made available with The Other Half smart cover for the Jolla smartphone.
Jolla and Rovio have agreed to start the co-branding of an Angry Birds themed The Other Half, including e.g. visually stunning physical covers, tailor made ambiences, sounds, images, videos, and more, which are expected to become soon available for Jolla users. The final content is currently under development, and is targeted to be announced in detail during Q2/2014.

New level of brand experience with Makia’s Nordic clothing line
The internationally known Finnish clothing company Makia is co-creating with Jolla unique The Other Half concept for its clothing line. By attaching the Makia designed smart cover to a Jolla phone, the user will get a full-blown Makia experience through the Jolla partner space. For Makia, the new partner space gives great possibilities to direct the Makia brand story to fans with the means of storytelling, e.g. music videos and news & event feeds, as well as visualizing the product catalogue, and addressing special offers, to name a few benefits.

Jolla and F-Secure Join Forces to Offer younited, the Trusted Cloud Service to Jolla Users
HELSINKI, Finland – February 21, 2014 – Jolla, the Finnish smartphone and Sailfish OS developer and F-Secure, the Finnish cloud security software expert, today announced a cooperation: all Jolla smartphone users will soon have the opportunity to utilize younited by F-Secure, a trusted and secure cloud storage service.
Jolla and F-Secure are currently working in cooperating to make younited a best fit for the needs of Jolla users. The upcoming solution will put Jolla smartphone owners back in control of their digital belongings by giving them gigabytes of cloud storage for quick and easy backup, storing, and sharing. It will also feature a straightforward signup to younited from the smartphone. Users will be able to access stored Jolla content from other devices connected to younited, such as tablets, Macs or PCs.
